The 4th Annual Black History Museum has opened for Black History Month. This year's theme is Black is a Rainbow Color. Mrs. Hardges-Green, Library Media Specialist and founder of the museum, explained her reasoning for the theme. She said just as we have a beautiful rainbow after a treacherous storm, African-Americans have been put through misery and anguish and still have been able to thrive and become talented artists, athletes, politicians, scientists, and so much more! The art and synopses that are featured in the museum is done by our very own 3rd-5th grade Marlins. During the grand opening visitors were able to see the fantastic work of our Marlins and Mrs. Hardges-Green gave away free books about Black History. If you haven't stopped by the mansion to see the museum you have one more opportunity during our Heroes of Heritage event on Tuesday, February 25th at 5:00 p.m.
